Coronavirus Update

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
We are now approaching a time when the coronavirus is going to be everywhere. Please listen to the advice from the government and follow it rigoursly. The virus may not affect YOU too badly but there are plenty of us who are extremely vulnerable. When attending rallies and lessons please keep your distances from each other, which should be quite easy. If anyone is feeling unwell do not come to the rally
With the rapidly developing situation regarding the Corona virus pandemic we have received advice from both PCUK and also the BEF. While the situation is a fast moving one and advice may change as time goes by, currently the advice we have is at this time in line with Government advice we will still be going ahead (we are under 500 participants and it is an outside sport). All those onsite should follow government guidelines on hand washing, catching coughs/sneezes in tissues etc.
Guidelines from the PC office
We are very conscious of the developing situation with Coronavirus and we are working with our medical advisor to offer our members, staff, volunteers and officials the best possible advice for coping with the outbreak.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will let you know if there are any updates.
There is presently no rationale to close or cancel equestrian events, but this may change as the situation evolves. We would strongly recommend everyone in the equestrian community to follow the NHS guidance on how to avoid catching or spreading the virus to help in the containment process.
COMPETITORS
  • Minimise the number of people accompanying to help and support – one adult per competitor
  • Avoid gathering in confined spaces – taking measures such as queuing for toilets outside rather than in the building
  • Avoid using catering at events, bring your own food and drink to eat in cars
  • Frequently clean hands by using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • When coughing and sneezing cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – throw tissue away immediately and wash your hands.
  • Avoid close contact with anyone who has fever and cough.
Stay informed
If there are any updates to this advice we will be sharing them on our website and social media pages, so please keep an eye on these channels.
