Triathlon January 2023

What a fabulous day our Triathletes have had at the area 4 triathlon run by Pendle Forest and Craven branch. An early start for the swim at Pendle Leisure Centre saw Scarlet C gain a personal best by a length in the swim. Then on to Coniston Cold at the Craven Country Ride for the run and the shoot/beanbags. We were joined by our Beanie Biathletes for a rather muddy and wet run. Esme did a super run getting best run in the Biathlon and after the beanbags came 4th overall. Jessie did a good run and beanbags and enjoyed every minute. Tom did a good run and then an amazing beanbags which gained him 1st overall, winning a trophy. Eliza has moved up to the Minimus class and gave everything on the run in the worst of today’s weather, also her first time shooting at turning targets. Edward has also moved up to the minimus class and turning targets, and gained a personal best in the shoot of 700.
It was very muddy and cold, it was definitely a character building day as running up a North Yorkshire grassland hill in January in heavy rain is certainly not for the faint hearted. All our triathletes gave it their all and personal bests were achieved which is what it’s all about. Well done Wheelton 👏
